The 4th edition of the Solarplaza Summit Portugal will once again unite key national stakeholders and prospective international players to discuss the status, challenges, and opportunities of the Portuguese PV market.
Already a renewable energy powerhouse, Portugal covers over half of its electricity production with renewables. While hydro and wind energy are slumping, solar energy is emerging as the renewable technology with the highest potential for growth. Adding around 701 MW of new PV systems in 2021, Portugal now boasts around 2 GW of cumulative capacity and aims to cross the 9 GW threshold by the end of the decade under its PNEC plan. New emerging technologies like storage, floating PV and green hydrogen, coupled with the 'European Fit for 55' plan might up the ante even more.
