The Solarplaza Summit Romania 2026 returns to Bucharest for its 5th edition in May 2026, reaffirming its role as the premier platform for Romania’s solar PV and energy storage sectors. As the country’s renewable ambitions scale up, this summit places a strong emphasis on project bankability, providing a focused setting for open dialogue between the financial, technical, and regulatory stakeholders shaping the next phase of growth.
Romania is entering a decisive era of grid modernization and capacity optimization. The implementation of new grid codes and the advancement of grid-forming capabilities demand coordinated action from regulators and system operators. Simultaneously, the integration of energy storage solutions (DERs, sector coupling, and cross-border interconnection) will be essential for unlocking system flexibility and reliability. According to Romania’s National Energy & Climate Plan, the country is expected to exceed 10 GW of cumulative solar PV by 2030, with battery storage emerging as a key enabler of monetizable, dispatchable renewable energy.
