Unlocking Greece's solar and energy storage potential: Insights, networking, growth

Renewable energy updates | Laws and regulations | Battery energy storage | RES curtailments | Opportunities for adding flexibility

By installing a generous 2.5 GW of new solar capacity, Greece bumped up its cumulative solar PV capacity number to 9.6 GW by the end of 2024. The country is anticipated to add another 10 to 12 GW of fresh solar capacity by 2030, with solar and wind technology expected to dominate most of the renewable auctions until 2025. To mitigate grid congestion issues, the Greek government is increasingly promoting BESS applications through successive auctions that will help the country create a competitive energy storage market.

The 6th Solarplaza Summit Greece: PV & Storage provides a vital platform for stakeholders to navigate the opportunities coupled with these developments, as well as the significant strategic challenges regarding grid issues like curtailment, newly defined interconnection terms, and changing market and regulatory frameworks. The event unites industry leaders, investors, and innovators to discuss local market developments and global solar trends and learnings that impact the Greek renewable energy landscape.
