In 2026, agrivoltaics in Europe is entering its first true scale-up phase. Policy momentum is accelerating across the EU, with dedicated support schemes taking shape in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and emerging markets in Central Europe. A wave of deployment is now underway: Italy’s national programme alone is targeting 1.04 GW by June 2026, France is transitioning to scaled commercial projects under a strict agricultural-first framework, and Germany’s updated EEG and Solarpaket I are boosting the bankability of dual-use PV across priority agricultural regions.
2026 is not simply a year of incremental growth; it is Europe’s ramp-up year, when agrivoltaics shifts decisively from isolated pilot projects to scalable, investment-ready infrastructure. As project pipelines expand, tenders mature, and early commercial systems begin operation, the market is moving toward genuine industrial deployment and multi-GW potential across the decade.
