Hungary is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. To meet these ambitions, the country aims to
increase the share of renewable energy (RE) to 30% by 2030, as outlined in its updated National Energy
and Climate Plan (NECP).
