He is focused on empowering and accelerating change by advising organizations, industry leaders and global decision-makers (business, finance and government) on the transition towards net-zero carbon emissions. His breadth of experience stems from 20 years working in the finance industry (equity research, fund management and corporate finance) with a focus on both the energy transition and the digital energy revolution the sector is going through. Prior to founding Alexa Capital, he was Managing Director and Head of European Cleantech Research at Jefferies & Co. Gerard was also a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, TU Berlin and Imperial College in London.

Today Rocco Viscontini manages Enerpoint's photovoltaic systems and collaborates as a strategic consultant for some of the most significant and innovative international photovoltaic companies.

Cristina is a seasoned professional with strategic and cross-functional expertise in business development, M&A and long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) within the renewable energy sector. Her core competencies include new business scouting and origination, project development for renewable energy sources and power storage, financial and commercial acquisition, and sustainable corporate development planning. Cristina has held key positions at several companies, including Engie where she currently serves as Head of Origination – Business Development for the Renewables Business Unit. She has also worked as Green Power Development Manager at Engie Italia SpA; Business Development and M&A Manager at EF Solare Italia S.p.A., and Energy Management Planner at api nòva energia S.r.l. Her career spans roles in project development, strategic planning, and international business development across Europe, Latin America, and the MENA region. Cristina holds a Master of Science in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University, with a focus on risk management for investments in renewable energy and is a passionate supporter of the energy transition. At 43 years old, Cristina is a mother of three children, balancing her professional achievements with her personal life.

Roxana Serban is a Project Development Manager within the Investment team at Encavis AG, a leading European IPP with over 3.8 GW of installed renewable capacity across the continent. With a background in Engineering and early experience in the telecommunications sector, she made a purposeful transition into renewable energy, driven by a strong personal commitment to sustainability and the ambition to help shape a cleaner energy future. At Encavis, she manages partnerships in the Italian market, supports the company’s growth strategy through new investment opportunities, and fosters strategic collaborations, while keeping a close eye on emerging trends across Europe’s renewable energy landscape.

Rocco Mauro is Head of M&A and Business Development for Italy at ZE Energy, a French independent power producer backed by leading private equity and institutional investors, building a utility-scale BESS pipeline exceeding 2 GWh in Italy. A graduate of Bocconi University in Milan with an MSc in Management, he brings more than a decade of experience in renewable energy and infrastructure investment across solar, wind and storage. Throughout his career he has acted as advisor and investment lead on the development and divestment of greenfield and ready-to-build assets, with a particular focus on M&A, project finance and value recovery from underperforming assets.

With a degree in law and over 20 years of international experience in the renewable energy and energy-related projects sector, Alessandro Migliorini is a manager who combines experience and a deep understanding of the energy market and dynamics with a multidisciplinary and problem-solving approach. Furthermore, he has a deep understanding of the peculiarities of the renewables scenarios and of the local Italian territory where, for ten years, he has been in charge of the development of European Energy, a Danish operator active in various international markets. Among the various projects handled by Migliorini is the realization in 2020 of Italy's record single-connection photovoltaic park.

As General Manager of Enfinity Energy Europe, Alice leads the company’s long-term strategy for energy commercialization across European markets, overseeing the development of an integrated platform spanning energy trading, portfolio optimization, and retail energy supply. In this role, she is responsible for accelerating Enfinity’s positioning across the energy value chain, including PPAs, route-to-market solutions, cross-border trading, BESS optimization, and direct electricity sales to commercial, industrial and retail customers. As Head of Energy Commercialization, Alice leads the definition of the company’s energy sales strategy and the structuring and execution of energy transactions for the global pipeline. Alice is a professional with 18 years of presence in the energy sector and extensive experience in energy trading, origination and structuring. During her career, Alice has proved solid skills in originating, structuring and executing complex deals on niche products such as EUAs and PPAs. Prior to joining Enfinity Global, Alice worked for Canadian Solar as Associate Director Energy and Assets Management, where she led the execution of 6 long term PPAs in Italy. Previously, she was Head of Origination and Carbon Trading and Strategy Committee Member at EcoWay, one of the first carbon trading company in Europe where she played a key role in the company’s growth, managing the execution of around 1.4 Billion € of transactions in 2014. Alice holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Institutions and Financial Markets Management from Bocconi University in Milano. She also holds and Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milano.

Carlo Stagnaro is the director of research and studies at the Bruno Leoni Institute. Previously, he served as the chief of the technical secretariat for the Minister of Economic Development. He is also a member of the Academic Advisory Council of the Institute of Economic Affairs, a research fellow at the Epicenter Network, a member of the scientific committee of the journal Energia, and a fellow of the Italian Observatory on Energy Poverty. Additionally, he is a member of the management committee for the second-level Master’s program in Energy and Sustainability at the University of Genoa. His research interests are primarily focused on energy economics and competition policy. He is an economic columnist for the daily newspaper Il Foglio. His latest book, co-authored with Alberto Saravalle, is "Perché viviamo già dentro un conflitto globale permanente (e come uscirne)" (Fuoriscena, 2025).

Giovanni Paolo is Senior Director in Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) with responsibility for the Energy & Infrastructure Advisory (E&IA) practice in Italy. Giovanni Paolo has extensive experience (+15 years) in infrastructure and renewable energy funds management across EMEA countries (business development, M&A, and financing). Graduated in Economics from Bocconi University, Giovanni Paolo begins is career in the energy sector in a leading European consulting company (AFRY) and in some IPPs. After these experiences, he worked as Investment Director at Platina Energy Partners, a London-based private equity fund manager specializing in investments in the renewable energy sector, with direct responsibility for all the activities across Europe. Before joining JLL, Giovanni Paolo held the position of Head M&A at EMS (the Italian investment and asset management platform owned by Ardian). JLL is a Fortune 500 professional services firm with $19.4 billion in revenue and operations in 80+ countries specialized in real assets (Estate, Infra, and Energy). The E&IA is a global boutique corporate finance team within JLL's EMEA Capital Markets division, specializing in renewable energy M&A, financing, and advisory services across Europe, the US, and APAC. In Europe, JLL E&IA has advised on 25+ GW of assets across 125+ transactions worth ~€21 billion and is Europe's leading energy storage financial advisor with 50 transactions comprising 9GW across 13 countries.

Martina leads the commercial development of the Italian market for Renewables Trading & Origination at BKW Energy, a Swiss utility and one of the European leaders in the PPA business, with 3.18 TWh of contracted energy in its portfolio. She specializes in PPA transactions across various renewable technologies, including battery energy storage systems (BESS). Martina supports utilities and their partners in expanding their renewable portfolios by designing tailored solutions that mitigate commercial risk and unlock long-term value. Before joining BKW, she held commercial and strategy roles at RWE, Statkraft—where she supported the expansion into corporate PPAs—and Shell. She is also a guest lecturer at the IKN Institute and a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Martina holds degrees from Stanford, Bocconi, and ULP, and was an early member of the Stanford LISA Incubator Leadership Team.

Fabrizio Bonemazzi is an energy expert with a 35+ experience in electric grids and power generation, in particular variable renewables such as wind and solar. After a master degree in electrical engineering from University of Rome “La Sapienza”, his professional career started in 1988 with an experience in distribution grids, from planning and design to construction and operation. From the year 2000 he participated to the creation of a startup company in Enel Group dedicated to behind the meter solutions. He dealt in particular with solar thermal, solar PV and mini wind solutions, having the possibility to scout worldwide market and selecting more innovative and competitive solutions. In 2011 he joined Enel Green Power, moving to large utility scale renewable plants. He had the opportunity to head the engineering unit at global level, taking care of 100 GW+ design of renewable plants worldwide. In 2019 he took the responsibility of the construction of wind, solar and BESS plants in Europe for almost 2 GW. In September 2022, he left Enel and began collaborating with several organizations as an expert in renewable energy, storage systems, and the power sector. Specifically, he coordinates numerous training and capacity-building initiatives on renewables and grids across the African continent for the Res4Africa Foundation. Additionally, he teaches at various ITS Academies, collaborates with private universities, and works with the Italia Solare association. He is also the author of several papers and articles on energy matters.

Ruben Valiente is the Managing Director of Maxxen, a leading European player in the energy storage sector. With more than 25 years of international experience in the energy transition industry, he has held senior roles in global multinationals including GE and ABB, as well as founding several energy start-ups. An engineer graduating cum laude and an MBA holder from IESE Business School, Ruben combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial, strategic, and operational leadership. His experience spans the full energy value chain, including project development and finance, EPC and O&M, R&D, product innovation, and manufacturing. Throughout his career, he has focused on accelerating the deployment of clean energy solutions and scaling technologies that support the global energy transition.

Tiziano Caizzi is an Investment Manager at BW ESS, based in Zurich, where he is responsible for the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage investments in the Italian market. He structures transactions, negotiates key commercial agreements, and oversees the disciplined deployment of capital across a growing portfolio of grid-scale projects. Previously, he held roles at Shell, Enel, and Terna, developing a strong foundation in power systems, infrastructure development, and energy transition initiatives. His perspective combines technical depth with financial judgment at the intersection of regulation, infrastructure, and long-term capital allocation. He holds an Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bologna, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Rachel leads engagements encompassing energy storage training, market analysis, electricity and ancillary services price forecasting, energy storage business model optimization, and commercial due diligence. Additionally, Rachel contributes to R&D efforts, including the development of Clean Horizon's in-house BESS optimization tool, COSMOS, and coordinates the company's price forecast activity. Her expertise extends to European countries, with a focus on France, Germany, as well as the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Zhou You, Renewables & BESS Origination Lead at DXT Commodities, an international energy trading company active in Europe with more than 4GW of renewable portfolio. She has 18 years of working experience in the energy industry, covering different roles between business development, sales and origination. In DXT she covers all activities related to renewable assets, including off-taking, route-to-market, PPA, and storage/flexibility projects. Her tasks also include the identification of new business opportunities to pursue in line with the company’s business strategy. Ms Zhou has a business and economics background and has an Executive MBA degree from SDA Bocconi.

Silvia Concettini is a Project Leader in the Italian Advisory team at Aurora Energy Research, where she leads bespoke projects supporting renewable and battery investments. Before joining Aurora in December 2023, Silvia spent two years as a Senior Economist in the Competition and Regulation Advisory practice at KPMG France. She also previously served as an Assistant Professor of Economics and Econometrics and brings over ten years of academic research experience in electricity power markets. Silvia holds a jointly supervised PhD in Economics from Université Paris Ouest and the University of Milan. She earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Organization from the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE), as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Bocconi University.

Even Kvelland is the co-founder and CCO of Glint Solar, a Norwegian software company whose platform helps leading solar developers quickly identify and analyze greenfield solar projects for both ground and floating PV. Prior to Glint, Even worked in a number of energy-related functions spanning consulting, business intelligence and diplomacy in Europe, Africa and the US. Even studied energy, economics and international affairs at Macalester College and Columbia University, respectively.

Claudia is Principal in AFRY, a multinational engineering and consulting company. She has 10+ years experience in energy modelling, scenarios development and regulation for institutional bodies, government authorities and private companies. Before joining AFRY, she was at Snam Spa working on developing the strategic gas flows scenarios. Prior to Snam, she was at Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico (RSE) working on power markets modelling and regulation; previously she worked as analyst in the World Energy Outlook team at the International Energy Agency (Paris), where she led the modelling and analysis on flexibility and BESS. Claudia is a member of the scientific committee of the Italian think tank AWARE.

Dario holds a Master degree in Industrial Engineering focusing on Energy and Sustainability Management. He has previous experience in strategy consulting with Deloitte Consulting and various roles as Originator General Manager at Danske Commodities. He currently coordinates the Energy Market Taskforce at the Italian Wind Association (ANEV). Dario has contributed to establishing ONE’s European leadership in PPA Transaction advisory, having supported generators in over 5 GW of market parity transactions from inception to closing.

Matteo Forlani is Head of Business Development Italy at ContourGlobal, a KKR company active in the energy sector, where he focuses on new investment opportunities in renewable energy, battery storage and the energy transition. He has extensive experience in business development, M&A, equity partnerships and board-level roles, gained through previous positions within Enel Group. His profile combines industrial, financial and strategic expertise, with a solid corporate background and the ability to operate effectively in complex business, regulatory and stakeholder environments. Pepe has over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, developing a deep understanding of the industry across various segments. He has a proven track record in defining and implementing long-term PPA strategies for both IPPs and large industrial consumers. This includes negotiating and executing term sheets and final PPAs. Beyond his PPA expertise, Pepe has experience managing energy M&A projects, driving business development initiatives, and providing market, regulatory, and technical advisory services in the Iberian and Latin American markets. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from ICAI (Madrid) and a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London.

Roberta d’Alessandro, Protos Consulting Energy BU Director, is a senior executive and energy transition advisor with more than 17 years of experience across renewable energy, energy storage, infrastructure and investment strategy. She has advised utilities, investors, TSOs and industrial players throughout Europe and the Middle East on the development of renewable energy platforms, BESS deployment, market entry strategies and large-scale energy transition programmes. Throughout her career at Bain & Company and AFRY, she supported the launch and scaling of renewable and storage businesses across Italy and the Balkans, while advising clients on emerging infrastructure opportunities. Her work focuses on the intersection of clean energy, storage and new demand drivers, including digital infrastructure, data centres and innovative business models enabling the next phase of energy transition.

Emiliano Guerrieri is Solar Team Manager and Senior Technical Specialist for the photovoltaic market at Protos Consulting, with long-standing experience in renewable energy, technical advisory and solar infrastructure. He supports banks, investors and sponsors in the technical assessment, due diligence and financing of photovoltaic assets, with a focus on project finance, leasing structures and investment programmes across the Italian energy market. At Protos Consulting, he has advised on renewable energy transactions and structured financing processes, contributing technical expertise throughout the development, evaluation and monitoring of solar PV portfolios. His work focuses on the role of photovoltaics as a strategic lever for sustainability, competitiveness and resilience, particularly in the Commercial & Industrial segment and in the broader energy transition.

With over 10 years of experience in the Italian energy sector, he has developed broad expertise through projects spanning much of the electricity value chain, including incentive schemes, energy markets, transmission, retail, and energy services. He has held quantitative and commercial roles at companies such as GSE, Terna, Enel Energia, and Enel X.

Michele is Country Lead Italy at Entrix, bringing 15+ years of international experience in renewable energy and battery storage. From design to deployment, he’s worked across the full BESS value chain. With a background in theoretical physics, Michele is now focused on scaling Entrix’s impact in the Italian energy transition.

Dr. Gianpiero Caruso is Managing Director at Almond Capital in Luxembourg, responsible for the origination, syndication, structuring and execution of asset-based finance transactions, with a primary focus on renewable energy markets in Western and Southern Europe, and a track record of ~700 MW renewable energy project transactions closed. Prior to the current role, Dr. Caruso was a Vice President at Global Capital Finance based in New York and Frankfurt. Dr. Caruso is a Yale Scholar, a Fulbright Scholar, and an Ermenegildo Zegna Scholar. Dr. Caruso received an MBA from Yale School of Management. He also holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Physics from Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa in Italy, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Building Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Physics-Solar Energy from University of Pisa, Italy, and the EPFL of Lausanne.
