Jan Willem has over 20 years of experience in the energy market and worked for some of the larger utilities. Early 2020, Jan Willem sold his previous companies Greenspread and Greencrowd to private equity concern NPM Capital. Since his departure in October 2020, Jan Willem works as an independent consultant at Stratergy. Stratergy advises funds, banks, utilities, and large consumers and producers of energy and specializes in maximizing asset value and minimizing financial risk.

Gerard Reid is a Co-founder and Partner at Alexa Capital, an independent financial services business committed to mobilizing capital towards achieving net-zero. He is also a Fellow at the Institute of the Environment at the University of Minnesota and a member of the Global Future Council on Advanced Energy Technologies at the World Economic Forum. Gerard has developed a strong reputation as a leading global expert in the energy and mobility space. A trusted authority on the energy transition, he is a published author and avid blogger, with a following of more than 200k across several platforms. He is also the co-host of “REDEFINING ENERGY” podcast, the leading energy podcast in Europe. He is focused on empowering and accelerating change by advising organizations, industry leaders and global decision-makers (business, finance and government) on the transition towards net-zero carbon emissions. His breadth of experience stems from 20 years working in the finance industry (equity research, fund management and corporate finance) with a focus on both the energy transition and the digital energy revolution the sector is going through. Prior to founding Alexa Capital, he was Managing Director and Head of European Cleantech Research at Jefferies & Co. Gerard was also a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, TU Berlin and Imperial College in London.

My clients include utilities, investors, regulators, legislators, and NGOs, both in transaction and strategic settings. As part of Strategy&'s energy practice I help clients make the right decisions. I lead the Energy, Utilities & Resources Industry for PwC Netherlands and I am part of the Global Energy Practice Leadership Team, responsible for our Power & Utilities Advisory Practice.

Tobias Kurth studied Business Administration and Engineering (Dipl.) with a focus on environmental technology at Cologne University of Applied Sciences. He is Managing Director of Energy Brainpool GmbH & Co. KG in Berlin and has been active in the energy market for more than 20 years. Transformation, collaboration and communication are his passions. As a systemic business coach and agile team facilitator, his focus has been on the transformation of the energy market from the very beginning. Among other things, he managed the Europe-wide sales of a medium-sized solar company for sustainable energy products in trade, industry and commerce. At Energy Brainpool, Tobias Kurth advises companies on the development and optimisation of business models, organisational and team development and strategic issues. His field of activity also includes power price scenarios as a basis for investment and financing decisions, analyses, studies and training.

Mr. Sylvain Cognet-Dauphin is the EU Power & Renewables Lead and Executive Director , leading the analysis of power markets across Europe at S&P Global Commodity Insights. His responsibilities include regulatory and policy assessments, power outlooks, and analyzing the strategic implications for market players. Prior to joining S&P Global, Mr. Cognet-Dauphin served as the Chief Analyst at ENGIE’s Center of Expertise in Economic and Modeling Studies, where he managed a team of internal consultants focused on strategic studies and asset valuations. Before ENGIE, he was a Senior Principal Researcher at IHS Markit, contributing to power and gas consulting assignments in the Middle East, North Africa, and Wider Europe. Mr. Cognet-Dauphin holds a master’s degree from École des Mines de Paris, France, and has completed executive education programs in corporate finance at the London Business School, United Kingdom.

Florian Mayr, partner at Apricum, is an expert on strategy, business development and transaction advisory in the global renewable energy markets, including energy storage. Florian leads Apricum’s energy storage, green hydrogen and digital energy activities. In particular, he supports Apricum’s clients in successfully accessing new markets and seizing attractive business opportunities. He is also active in advising cleantech companies on corporate and project financing, including M&A, fund raising and due diligence. In addition, he is a regular contributor to external publications and a frequently booked speaker on the topic of energy storage. Prior to Apricum, Florian spent a decade in senior positions at McKinsey & Company and RWE, where he was mainly involved in strategy development projects both in the conventional and renewable energy sectors. Florian holds a master’s degree in engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, and an MBA from the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Mannheim.

Wilko Schuijff is Head of Pricing and Portfolio Management bij Eneco Energy Trade B.V.. He has in-depth knowledge and broad experience in the Energy Business (Grid operator, Trade and Supply) and processes. Over the past 5 years his focus is on commodity risk management, hedging, deal structuring, acquisitions of energy companies/assets and development of new business in the area of the Dutch energy transition.

Jon Ferris has spent his career in the energy sector, focusing on making the industry function better for consumers by helping them take control of the risks associated with their energy needs. Since starting in 2005 at the inception of flexible energy contracts, he has developed trading and reporting systems, as well as automated market information and data services, to support some of the largest businesses in managing their exposure to the energy markets. This eventually led to the establishment of a trading desk managing 12 TWh of wholesale power and gas. Jon has also supported new entrants in bringing competition to the markets and developed innovative retail products that facilitate market access for smaller companies. His deep understanding of energy policy, technological developments, and their impacts on markets has helped bring transparency to costs and their drivers, enabling businesses to better understand and optimize their energy consumption.

Yves Desbazeille represents the European nuclear industry toward European decision-makers in Brussels and other European capital cities and decides the way forward on priorities and actions. Yves is a French national, born in Toulon (south of France). He has spent many years abroad (in Belgium and South-East Asia). Engineer by training, he holds a master’s in business administration. He started his career in nuclear engineering and then he had many experiences in project development and project management of nuclear, hydropower, and gas plant projects. Later he was also involved in EU affairs with his former employer EDF.
