UK solar PV market could benefit from German feed-in tariff cuts

The prestigious line-up of speakers includes internationally renowned solar energy experts Hermann Scheer and Jeremy Leggett. The UK PV Conference will take place in Central Hall Westminster in London on 22 June 2010. The conference is a platform to hear and meet business leaders in the UK solar PV market. Topics at the conference include the new FIT-regulation, module supply and demand, technology, cost, investment and financing issues.

“The UK solar revolution is underway. With the right supply chain in place, I believe that we can achieve grid parity – where solar power in homes will cost no more than conventional electricity – as soon as 2013,” predicts Jeremy Leggett, CEO and founder of Solarcentury, one of UK’s leading PV system contractors.

The UK PV Conference host, Edwin Koot, CEO of Solarplaza, commented: “I am glad that besides the solar energy guru’s Scheer and Leggett, several UK senior experts with an international solar energy background and more than 20 years of experience will speak. We expect around 150 participants and among them many foreign PV companies that recognise the potential that the UK FIT is offering. They will learn what the conditions are like for the development of large-scale solar and residential projects in the UK, and they will gain insight into which business models are most likely to benefit from the improved framework conditions for solar energy in the UK.”

Delegates can register to attend the conference at www.ukpvconference.com/register.
