International Vehicle-to-Grid Conference 2026

International Vehicle-to-Grid Conference 2026: Pathways to Integrating Bidirectional Mobility into Energy Systems April 15–16, 2026 | Halle Münsterland, Münster, Germany

Essen, Germany, January 2026 — As the energy transition progresses and electromobility continues to accelerate, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology is becoming increasingly important. On April 15 and 16, 2026, the 5th International Vehicle-to-Grid Conference will take place in Münster, Germany, providing a key forum for decision-makers, technology leaders, and researchers from the automotive industry, energy sector, charging infrastructure, and digital technology fields.

The English-language conference will bring together leading stakeholders from around the world to examine V2G, Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), and smart charging as integral components of future energy systems. The event is organized by Haus der Technik (HDT), based in Essen, Germany. In addition to technological innovation, the conference will focus on market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, business models, and real-world applications.

The program will feature expert presentations, market and technology analyses, and panel discussions addressing the challenges and opportunities of bidirectionally integrating electric vehicles into power grids. Key topics will include:

  •  OEM strategies for V2G-capable vehicle fleets and charging infrastructure
  • Market developments, new business models, and revenue potential
  • Regulatory developments and standardization
  • Interoperability and technical challenges
  • Customer perspectives, fleet operators, and urban use cases
  • Grid stability and energy supply strategies using bidirectional vehicle batteries

A special highlight of the conference will be its practical insights into pilot projects and best practice examples from across Europe and around the world, showing how V2G solutions are already contributing to greater grid flexibility and enabling new energy and mobility services.

The Vehicle-to-Grid Conference 2026 is designed for executives and experts from the automotive and energy industries, grid operators, technology and solution providers, charging infrastructure developers, regulatory authorities, market analysts, and investors exploring the economic and technical potential of bidirectional electromobility.
