New international solar energy trade mission to China
The third International PV Trade Mission to China will be held from 24 to 28 November 2008. This open trade mission, dedicated to solar PV and organized by SolarPlaza, will include visits to major and emerging manufacturers of crystalline and thin-film solar modules in the Shanghai and Shenzhen regions. Registration is open to anyone interested in exploring business opportunities with Chinese manufacturers and other delegates. In previous trade missions the different backgrounds of the international delegates have proven to be a unique way of establishing close relationships.
Program
The focus of this international PV trade mission is to meet both leading Chinese vertically integrated manufacturers of crystalline solar modules, and rapidly growing thin-film manufacturers. In the Jiangsu Province and in Shenzhen, several new and rapidly growing PV manufacturers are ramping up production. Some companies are well known, while others are emerging ambitious producers not yet known to the general public, who will be in a strong position due to major shareholders or powerful parent companies. They have set capacity targets of hundreds of MegaWatts for 2010 and onwards. The program also includes a brokerage event where participants can meet other Chinese PV companies interested in OEM activities. Finally, the program will offer informal lunches and dinners during visits to exciting Chinese cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Fully organized trade mission
The PV Business Tour program will be fully organized and include stays in 4-star hotels and all travel arrangements. This intensive experience will provide a unique way to explore new business opportunities with other committed international solar businesspeople and to enjoy discussions, informal dinners and the Chinese nightlife with them. This event will also include a sightseeing tour of Shanghai. The all-inclusive fee for the tour is €3,750. All that participants need to do is arrange their flights to Shanghai, where the tour starts, and back from Hong Kong, where it ends.
Business owners, entrepreneurs and executives interested in developing partnership networks, and building close relationships with Chinese manufacturers and other international participants, are welcome to join this trade mission. The details of the complete program and a registration form are available on the following websites: www.solarplaza.com or www.pvtourchina.com.
The number of delegates will be limited. The availability of flights to Shanghai may also be limited. Participants must apply for a visa. The Chinese organizers and SolarPlaza will provide a formal invitation letter, which is required when applying for a visa.
Market expectations
The Chinese PV industry is growing rapidly, and on its way to becoming the world's leading supplier of solar cells and modules. New manufacturers are entering the market almost every week. Some new, large and powerful companies operating in other business areas have recently started producing cells and modules, and have big ambitions. The new Chinese thin-film manufacturers will challenge the world's leading crystalline and thin-film producers with attractively priced modules.
