La Zagaleta - Solar Powered Homes
The La Zagaleta Golf and Country Club now has some solar powered homes, showing that residential developments at the highest level are looking for ways to help the environment
Several homes in the La Zagaleta estate have opted for solar power
The La Zagaleta golf and country club is set in the Ronda mountain range in the Costa Del Sol region of Spain. The development was once home to both Henry Roussell, the french Pharmaceutical tycoon who became Father in Law to the late Cristina Onassis, then Adnan Khashoggi. The estate was acquired by its current owners in the late eighties and then marketed as an exclusive villa and golf development in 1991.
The development covers 900 Hectares and has some of the most beautiful natural surrounding imageinable. There are a total of only 410 plots on site and this low level of build density won La Zagaleta the Ford award for conservation of nature. There are currently 245 houses built around the two world championship golf courses.
Many of the new homes that have been built are taking advantage of solar power in order to take care of their general electricity consumption. More and more prospective purchasers are showing an interest in this form of energy generation and this will only fuel the rapid increase of solar power useage within the homes available on this estate.
Mark Goodwin owner of First Property Choice commented, "it is good to see that people are constructing houses with clean energy and solar power in mind." He continues,"many prospective purchasers are citing homes that have solar powered energy as their prefered choice." He concludes, "this really is encouraging to see, particularly in such a high level and exclusive development."
