InterSOLUTION 2013: 5th edition of the solar energy trade fair
On Wednesday 23, Thursday 24 and Friday 25 January 2013, Delfico is organising the 5th edition of InterSOLUTION, the only “dedicated” trade fair for solar energy in Benelux, at the Flanders Expo in Ghent, Belgium.
At the end of August 2012, five months before the opening, the fair is 70% booked.
InterSOLUTION provides a summary of the sector: a current overview of solar cells, PV modules, solar boilers, heat pumps, solar collectors, solar panels, converters, wiring, production equipment, fixing systems and system components.
Visitors are active in the following sectors: architecture, construction and building, installation, electricity, roofing, plumbing, heating, lighting, sanitary facilities, pools, banks, public services, engineering firms, etc.
5th edition
InterSOLUTION 2013 is an anniversary edition. Ghent has been the centre for specialists in solar energy for three days in January every year since 2009. Above all, the 5th edition wants to consolidate.
70% booked
“Five months before the opening and hall 8 of Flanders Expo is 70% booked,” says organiser Delphine Martens from Delfico. “The major suppliers, such as Schüco, SMA, Lapp, Bisol, Fronius, Scheuten Solar, Enphase Energy, Schletter, etc. are again showing their confidence in InterSOLUTION. Despite the bankruptcy of several operators in Belgium, this is a fantastic interim result. Given the market conditions, we want to consolidate our selection of exhibitors on 11,000 m², without jeopardising our strict admissions policy to guarantee visitors a quality selection.”
From Wednesday to Friday
Delphine Martens: “At the request of the exhibitors, InterSOLUTION will take place from Wednesday to Friday, and no longer on Saturday. This gives the fair an even more professional feeling. The late night is planned for Thursday 24/1, until 9 p.m.”
Visitors
The last edition achieved record numbers of visitors, with 5,246 professionals from 26 countries visiting InterSOLUTION at Flanders Expo in Ghent. Delphine Martens: “The aim is to at least consolidate this figure. Because of the crisis, there are fewer active solar panel fitters, but we remain positive about the potential.”
Market evolution
“The current market conditions, with the subsidy cuts in Belgium, will not scare us off. This market evolution is part of the growing pains of a relatively new sector. Within a few years, the market will have stabilised with a healthy number of suppliers and experts to take care of installation.
Investing in solar panels will continue to be profitable. The payback time for the end customer will remain attractive because of the lower costs of the panels and installations, but mainly because of the ever-improving sustainable output,” concludes organiser Delphine Martens of InterSOLUTION.
