SunPower says cost cuts on track
REUTERS - SunPower Corp said its initiatives to reduce its production costs remained on track, as the company looks to cut the number of steps in the manufacturing process by 15 percent by the end of this year.
Solar companies suffered through most of 2011 as prices for the panels that turn sunlight into electricity fell by nearly 50 percent, squeezing margins and driving some smaller players into bankruptcy.
