Solarfun to Build 100 MW Solar Plant in China
Chinese solar cell maker Solarfun Power Holdings Co. Ltd. on Friday said a subsidiary agreed to build a 100 megawatt solar power plant in China.
The move sent its U.S. shares up 35 cents, or 5.1 percent, to $7.21 in morning trading.
Under an agreement with the government of Jiayuguan City in Gansu province, Solarfun unit Jiangsu Linyan Solarfun Co. Ltd. will build the power plant and a module production facility which will support the project. Financial terms were not disclosed.
