Robert Bosch Wins EU Approval for Solar-Panel Takeovers
BLOOMBERG - Robert Bosch GmbH, the world’s biggest car-parts maker, won European Union approval to buy two German solar-module producers to expand its alternative energy business.
The European Commission in Brussels said it approved the deals on its Web site today.
Stuttgart, Germany-based Bosch said on Aug. 3 it offered 9 euros a share for Aleo Solar AG and agreed to buy a majority stake in Johanna Solar Technology GmbH. Bosch didn’t say how much it’s paying for its stake in Johanna Solar, a closely held maker of thin-cell solar modules in which Aleo has a 17 percent stake.
