Q2 shipment upgrades by Yingli, Trina suggest solar PV industry recovery
SOLARSERVER - Both Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. (Boading, China) and Trina Solar Ltd. (Changzhou, China) have upgraded their solar photovoltaic (PV) module shipment guidances for the second quarter of 2013. Yingli states that its shipments will increase 23-24% over the first quarter, and Trina expects to ship 630-660 MW.
This follows on news that Canadian Solar has beaten its guidance to ship 455 MW of PV modules during the quarter. With Sharp Corp. (Tokyo) reporting a 36% year-over-year increase in shipments and SunPower Corp. (San Jose, California, U.S.) producing modules at full capacity, the second quarter of 2013 already looks very good for top-tier PV makers.
