German Solar Park Constructed in 7 Weeks
SOLAR NOVUS TODAY - Gero Solarpark GmbH's 28-megawatt (MW) solar power plant was inaugurated in Amsdorf, Germany (near Halle) today, with Saxony-Anhalt Prime Minister Dr. Reiner Haseloff in attendance. The project is a joint venture set up by Getec Green Energy AG and the Romonta Group.
Despite the €50 million EUR (~$65 million USD) investment being overshadowed by the federal government's plans to make cuts to solar power subsidies, the companies have been able to realise the project without delay. As a result, the power plant was able to start producing solar power seven weeks after ground was broken on the site.
