First Solar scoops Catalina PV supply agreement
RENEWABLE ENERGY FOCUS - First Solar is to supply PV modules for the first phase of a 110MW solar development in California, the scheme’s developer announced on Wednesday.
EnXco, which is owned by the renewables arm of French utility EDF, has signed an agreement for First Solar to deliver 61MW of thin film modules to EnXco’s Catalina Solar Project in Kern County, California, starting in September 2012.
The agreement covers the first 60MW phase of development at Catalina Solar, due to be completed by the end of 2012. The second phase, which will add an additional 50MW, is expected to come online in June 2013. A supplier for the second phase has yet to be announced.
