First Solar 2Q profit falls almost 12 percent [USA, AZ]
BUSINESSWEEK - First Solar Inc. said on Thursday that its second-quarter profit fell 11.9 percent as selling prices declined and operating expenses rose.
The nation's largest solar panel maker said it earned $159 million, or $1.84 per share, during the quarter ended June 26. In the comparable period of 2009, First Solar earned $180.6 million, or $2.11 per share.
