Brazil Policies May Create $3 Billion Solar-Panel Market
BLOOMBERG - Brazil, where solar installations last year were less than 1 percent of those in the largest market, is issuing policies that may drive up sales of panels to $3 billion in 20 years.
Homeowners and businesses may now trade power produced during the day by rooftop solar systems to utilities in exchange for the electricity they consume at night, under rules announced yesterday by the Brasilia-based power regulator Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica.
