Applied Materials ups lobbying effort on energy
BUSINESSWEEK - Applied Materials Inc. ramped up its lobbying effort during the last three months of 2009, spending close to a half-million dollars trying to sway lawmakers on energy policy and other issues.
Many corporations spend more on lobbying, but the $470,000 Applied Materials spent in the fourth quarter compares with $150,000 the quarter before and $160,000 in the period a year earlier.
