7.6GW of new PV Installations in Germany in 2012
SOLAR NOVUS TODAY - The German Federal Network Agency today published the numbers of 2012 PV installations. Last year, a total of 7.6GW of new PV capacity was installed. According to the agencies’ president Jochen Homann, the number of new PV installations has slowed somewhat at the end of the year.
However, the legal corridor of new installations that defines the level of FiT degradation was once again significantly exceeded. The FiT for PV systems under the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) is adjusted automatically every month. Here, a constant lowering of rates by 1% is provided. The FiT is lowered further if the installed new capacity exceeds the defined corridor of 2,500 to 3,500MW p.a.. Because this is the case now, the tariffs for PV systems in the period from 1 February to 30 April 2013 fall first of each month by 2.2%.
