Solar Argentina
Argentina, Buenos Aires
July 5, 2012 - July 3, 2012
Overview
Since 2003, the GDP of Argentina has undergone average growth of 8% (7% in 2010, three times that of any European economy). According to a report from the Pew Environmental Group, in 2010, the South American country had the highest annual growth for installations using renewable energy (+568% compared to 2009), attracting 743 million dollars in clean energy investment.
And if the area of San Juan, with the biggest photovoltaic power plant in the country (1.2 MW) was the first to develop an incentive plan for the exploitation of solar energy, the administration of the city of Buenos Aires recently approved a new norm to promote the installation of photovoltaic on its territory. The programme will be supported by an information campaign and also includes the installation of plants on public buildings.
Moreover, according to forecasts from Btm Consult ApS, renewable energies in Argentina should see a 15% growth in the next 20 years, covering about 12% of global energy needs. SOLAR ARGENTINA will therefore be an important opportunity for all professionals of the sector interested in the important market of South America, which, in the near future, will undergo even more development.
SOLAR ARGENTINA will take place alongside GREEN EXPO ARGENTINA, the event dedicated to other renewable energies (biogas, cogeneration, hydro-electrical, geothermal energy, biofuel, waste treatment) and EOLICA ARGENTINA, the wind energy expo and conference.
